After 20 years of marriage, the author found herself blindsided and facing divorce. Dazed and confused, she stumbled in the dark trying to figure a way to survive. In sheer desperation and to make sure she didn’t do something she might regret later, she started a journal project that morphed into this book.
Becoming Unmarried is an honest and unfettered, often funny account of a very unfunny time. From navigating the actual legal process to finding new ways to cope with being a “suddenly single” woman, the author takes you along on her emotional roller coaster ride and offers insights into dealing with the idiosyncrasies of divorce.
Discover how to transform the relationships with the soon-to-be-ex’s family and friends, or let those connections go – gracefully.
Becoming Unmarried is a testimony of hope, humor, empowerment – and moving forward into life beyond divorce.

Just as I am sure this book helped the author herself, this book will surely help many others who are going through the same situation as she and even others who know someone who is going through a divorce. The author's story is told along with lessons she learned during the process of her divorce. She is open with her feelings during the divorce which will I am sure help others in knowing they are not alone. While I myself have not gone through a divorce, I felt I gained some important information in how to help others. Tami's way of writing also had me crying and smiling and laughing along with it. I highly recommend this new author. Thanks for sharing your story.Product details

This book was amazing! Would make a good movie! Love it ......
Becoming Unmarried is full of practical advice for the woman who is blindsided by a husband who says, "I want a divorce." My divorce was finalized ten years ago, and I wish I would have had this book to read while I was going through the agonizing months preceding the final decree. It's a difficult time when the person who has been your partner, the one you turned to in a crunch, becomes your adversary. Tami's advice of finding your own lawyer, going to counseling, dealing with loneliness and accepting help from family and friends is right on. Thank you Tami for sharing your insight on how to navigate the difficult times.
